Cowboy Country Cooler FAQs

1.) How do I choose the way my Cowboy Country Cooler is decorated?

The easiest way to select decorations for your order is to choose options from our Design Options page. There are literally 100's of possibilities and combinations. If you don't see an option that suits you, give us a call! We can often meet or exceed your design expectations. You can also visit our Photo Gallery to get a few ideas from previous designs.

2.) How much will each of the different cooler sizes hold?

The popular 48 quart coolers hold about 1.5 cases and about 1.5 bags of ice. 70 quart coolers hold about 2.25 cases and 2 bags of ice. 100 quart coolers will hold approximately 4 cases and 3 bags of ice. And, for the huge 120 quart, you can get 6 cases and 3 bags of ice in this bad boy.

3.) How long will they hold ice?

In our tests, Cowboy Country Coolers retained ice for 3 days, compared to less than 1 day for metal and foam insert models we tested. Your ice retention rate may vary depending on sun/heat exposure and our often the cooler is opened.

4.) Can I pick up my custom Cowboy Country Cooler?

Yes. Please confirm a pick up date and approximate time with customer service by calling 469-371-3228.

5.) Can our Cowboy Country Cooler be delivered?

Yes. We deliver within approximately 250 miles of Dallas, Texas.

6.) Do you ship?

Yes. We ship using freight companies to locations throughout the U.S. and many areas of Canada. Normal shipping time adds 3-5 days to delivery time. When truck shipped, the handles, bottle opener and back stop will need to be assembled. All you need is a phillips screw driver.

7.) How long will my order take?

Most orders for Cowboy Country Coolers are completed in 1-3 business days and are then ready for customer pickup, delivery or shipping.

8.) Why do you use Igloo ice chest inserts instead of foam or metal?

When we first started building our products, we tested them using foam, metal and insulated Igloo coolers. By far, the insulated Igloo coolers provided superior ice retention, especially when combined with the insulating factor added by the wood case. The Igloo cooler inserts we use also work the best and have the fewest issues with leaks around the spigot drain system we use to ensure easy cleanup.

9.) What are the metal handles, decorative items and coke bottle opener made from?

All exterior metal parts are solid cast iron.

10.) Do the cast iron handles, metal decorative items and coke bottle opener cost extra?

No. These are standard items that are included in our retail price of each Cowboy Country Cooler.

11.) How long does the optional weather seal last?

We use a commercial grade, oil based weather seal that will normally last six months to one year depending on how often a Cowboy Country Cooler is exposed to the weather.

12.) Can I re-apply the weather seal?

Yes. We recommend a quality spray on, oil based weather sealer such as Thompsons Weather Seal. We recommend re-applying about once a year. Left un-treated, the wood will begin to gray naturally which does not effect the performance.

13.) How are Cowboy Country Coolers made?

Each unit is custom hand made to order. We use rust-proof screws and waterproof adhesives to construct each Cowboy Country Cooler. They are made from your choice of western red cedar or pressure treated pine using cabinet style construction which reduced the number of visible screws.

14.) Can we use a Cowboy Country Cooler indoors?

Yes. We have many customers who have used Cowboy Country Coolers indoors in game rooms, kitchens, restaurants, liquor, wine and beer store displays as well as all of the outdoor uses.

15.) Do you sell kits of patterns for your products?

Sorry, no. Our custom design is patented and copyrighted. Individuals could use their own method to build a cooler but our design is protected and should not be copied for resale to others. While an individual could certainly make one for themselves, the materials could easily cost more than buying one from us.
